Florida has five main international airports (airport codes in brackets):
There are also many smaller regional airports for those people travelling to Florida from other USA departure points.

When flying to Florida from Europe you have a choice of taking a direct flight or making a connection through one of the US main airline hubs such as Chicago, Atlanta etc.
There are pros and cons of direct versus indirect flights.
A direct flight from Europe will typically be around 8 hours flying time and you do not have any of the hassle of changing planes and making your connection but on the downside, you arrive in Florida as an international traveller and then have to navigate your way through all the security checks, immigration and customs.
The result is you can find yourself exiting the airport terminal completely exhausted.
Alternatively you can make a connection at another US airport and then fly onto Florida on an internal domestic flight.
As a result you arrive in Florida a lot less stressed but you do need to ensure you leave enough time to make your connection and of course your overall travelling time goes up.
