The Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line and Its Ports of Call 2007 Deluxe book is a unique kind of travel guide and follows the same approach as PassPorter's main Walt Disney World Resort Guide, the PassPorter Walt Disney World 2007 in that it combines a planner where you can plan out your itinerary, an organiser to keep everything together when you are cruising on a Disney Cruise Line ship, a journal to record your activities and impressions and a keepsake to show your family on your return.

The Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line and Its Ports of Call guide book is written by Jennifer Marx and Dave Marx and is unusual in that it comes in several editions.

The Deluxe edition of the PassPorter Walt Disney World is much like a Filofax in that it comes in a padded 6-ring embossed, brown leather-look vinyl binder which means you can add, rearrange and remove pages at will.

It also contains 14 built-in organiser pockets, called PassPockets on which you can make planning notes (plus store loose items like brochures, maps, tickets, receipts etc. inside them) and an elastic band to keep the whole thing securely closed.

It also has a place to record character autographs to save buying a separate autograph book. You can also download additional content and updates from the PassPorter website and add extra PassPockets. The binder itself also has 10 interior slots for storing maps, ID cards, tickets etc, a pen (included) and a place to personalise the binder.

The Standard edition costs just under half the price of the Deluxe edition, comes in straight forward paperback binding and does not contain any built-in organiser pockets.

You can also buy the PassPorter Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line and Its Ports of Call as a Deluxe Refill Kit (pre-drilled looseleaf text) to insert into your existing Deluxe ring binder. This means if you are a keen Disney fan who visits Walt Disney World or cruises with Disney Cruise Lines on a regular basis, then you can just buy new inserts each year rather than buying the book and the binder.

The 2007 fifth edition has been fully updated and has over 300 pages including detailed port guides for all the 2007 ports, including the new Mediterranean cruises.

The opening chapters help you plan your cruise, particularly if you have never been on a Disney Cruise Lines cruise before with useful tips on packing, itineraries, sailing dates, deck plans of both the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder, side-by-side comparisons of the different kinds of staterooms (cabins) with floor plans and advise on the quietest cabins and rooms to avoid, getting to Port Canaveral and local accommodation.

There are chapters on dining (both formal and informal) with menus plus details of all the entertainment, relaxation and activities for the different age groups. There is also a very useful chapter dedicated to the various ports of call with 8 pages on each destination with reviews, detailed maps and worksheets.
