March 2009 Florida Events

March is an important month for anyone of Irish descent in Florida when St. Patrick's Day is celebrated at a number of venues around the State.

If you are an 'old' music fan of the 60s and 70s then a number of well known performers will be playing concerts this month including Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone, Jose Feliciano, Tony Orlando, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Chubby Checker and the Wildcats and Harold Melvin's Blue Notes. Both Disney's Epcot and Busch Gardens Africa are running a series of concerts this month.

Spring Training gets into full swing as major baseball teams take part in the Grapefruit League.

Highlight of the month has to be the re-opening of Cypress Gardens.

March again is a great month for County Fairs particularly if you are a fan of strawberries with several strawberry festivals taking place in wonderfully appropriate places like Plant City and Floral City in Central Florida.
