Universal Studios Halloween Celebrations

In 2010, Universal Studios celebrated the 20th year of bringing the deepest and darkest nightmares to life in marked contrast to Walt Disney World with their Halloween Horror Nights. The theme of 2010 was "XX: Twenty Years of Fear" and for 2011 Halloween Horror Nights 21 you get to meet Lady Luck.

This event is not recommended for children under the age of 13 and costumes and masks are not allowed.

It just runs at Universal Studios (not Islands of Adventure) for 25 nights, September 23, 24, 29, 30, October 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 and opens each night at 6:30 pm.

It close at 2:00 am on September 30, October 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29, at 1:00 am on October 9, 13, 16, 20, 23 and 27 and at 12 pm on all other nights.

This is a separately ticketed event at $81.99 (plus tax) for a single night. You can also buy a Frequent Fear Pass for the same amount which gives you access to every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday plus the first weekend, 15 nights in all.

Halloween Tickets

Introduced in 2010 was the Frequent Fear Plus Pass for $96.99 which also gives you Fridays as well as every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday plus the first weekend, a total of 20 nights.

If you want to bypass the regular lines then you can purchase a Frequent Fear Pass with Express Access for $169.99 which gives you access to every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday plus the first weekend. Each guest can bypass the lines once at each haunted house or participating ride or attraction. For $219.99 you can buy a Frequent Fear Plus Pass with Express Access which adds Fridays to the package.

New for 2011 is the Rush of Fear Pass with gives you access to all 10 nights for the first three weeks (September 23, 24, 29, 30, October 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 and 9) for $69.99. For $169.99 you can buy a Rush of Fear with Express Access.

If you are already visiting Universal Studios or Universal Islands of Adventure on the same day then you can purchase a "Stay and Scream" ticket which is cheaper than the normal Halloween Horror Nights ticket. The price is $66.99 on Saturdays, $451.99 on Fridays and $36.99 on all other days. All prices are plus tax.

Florida residents can buy a one night ticket for $41.99 (plus tax) for Sunday to Thursday, $5199 for Friday and $66.99 for Saturday through a Coca-Cola® or Burger King promotion.

Premier and Preferred Annual Passholders can also get savings admission tickets and Frequent Fear passes.

Halloween Horror Night Express passes are also available on selected rides and cost between $39.99 plus tax and $89.99 plus tax depending upon date.

Some children may find some of the attractions too intense. Note that there are no children's ticket prices and no costumes are allowed.
