Omaka Rocka

A new ride called Omaka Rocka has been announced for SeaWorld's Aquatica water park and it is scheduled to open in March 2010. The South Seas name Omaka Rocka means 'rocking river'.

This is the first significant change at the park since it opened nearly two years ago.

The Omaka Rocka is being built by ProSlide alongside the Whanau Way slide and will share the same tower. It will feature two slides with three funnels on each and riders will descend the slide in two-seater tubes.

The design of the slide with half pipes, near vertical walls and funnels will mean that you will experience near weightlessness as well as sliding both forwards and backwards. Parts of the ride will be enclosed in semi-transparent tubes so the riders can be viewed by people outside.

There will be no height restrictions though you must be able to hold onto both the tube handles, much like Whanau Way and Tassie's Twisters.
