Buying Universal Studios Tickets

Universal Studios Florida® operate two theme parks in Orlando, Universal Studios and the newer roller-coaster park, Islands of Adventure plus the music and entertainment venue, Universal CityWalk®.

Universal Studios used to sell just one or two day tickets which admitted you to either Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure or both. From January 2010 they are now selling their "U Select" pass which gives you the choice of a single park or both parks for either one, two, three, four or seven days admission. This is similar to Disney's "Magic Your Way" ticket system.

The "base ticket" gives you access to one park per day whilst the "park-to-park" option allows you to hop between the two parks on any given day, like Disney's "hopper" add-on. The "park-to-park" option costs an additional $10 to $30 per ticket depending upon the number of days. Unlike Disney though, there is not a "no expiry" option or "water park" option.

The tickets are valid for up to 14 consecutive calendar days from the date of first use and if you buy at least a two day ticket, then you also get up to 14 consecutive calendar days of access to the paid venues at Universal CityWalk (excluding the AMC Universal Cineplex 20 and the Blue Man Group Show).

If you plan on visiting other theme parks in Central Florida, then you should also check out the special deals with the Orlando Flex tickets which give you either a 14 consecutive days 5 park or 6 park ticket to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld, Aquatica and Wet 'n Wild plus Busch Gardens (6 park ticket only) for less than the individual ticket prices.

Universal Studios 2010 standard ticket prices

These prices are the standard ticket prices you would expect to pay at the gate (unless stated otherwise). All prices are subject to change and you should check with Universal Studios for the latest prices. By buying online, you can get a $10 discount per ticket for multi-day passes, compared to the gate prices.

If you plan on watching the Blue Man Group show, then consider a combined Blue Man/park ticket package.

Universal CityWalk® 2009 standard ticket prices

Unless you have bought a multi-day ticket or are staying at one of the Universal Resort Hotels, you will need to buy a separate ticket to visit the music and entertainment venues within Universal CityWalk®.

Other Universal Ticket Options

Universal also offer annual passes, Blue Man Group (and combined park tickets), special tickets for Florida residents and visitors from the UK as well as VIP tours and Express Plus tickets to beat the queues.
