Legoland Florida

Lego have announced the opening of Legoland Florida on the site of Cypress Gardens in Central Florida.

It will be the largest Legoland to date and will create 1,000 jobs. It is expected to open in late 2011.

Universal U Select

Universal Orlando has announced a new ticket pricing structure called "U Select", in time for the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It follows a similar idea introduced by Walt Disney World in 2005, the Disney "Magic Your Way" ticket system and the idea is to encourage guests to visit the Universal parks for more than just a couple of days.

Innoventions at Epcot

Beyond Spaceship Earth are the two crescent shaped glass fronted Innoventions pavillions - Innoventions East to the left and Innoventions West to the right. Between them on Innoventions Plaza in Innovention Fountain.

Innoventions are an every changing showcase for tomorrow's technologies that will affect our everyday lives in the fields of science, communication, transport and medicine

Originally the pavillions were known as Communicore but they were renamed Innoventions in 1994.

Innoventions presents a series of hands-on exhibits where you are entertained and can interact and play with current and future technologies like a virtual reality headset, the latest home entertainment systems and personal global communications.

Over in Innoventions East is Opportunity City where you can run your own virtual company, create and record a commercial amd email it to your home.

In Innoventions West you will find the Rockin' Robots who will play whatever instruments you choose for them.

Segway Tours

In 2002, Innoventions premiered the amazing SegwayTM Human Transporter (HT). The Segway is a the two-wheeled, giro-stabilised one-person transportation system that will travel at up to 12.5 mph for a distance of up to 24 miles on a single charge.

Today at Epcot, you can actually learn how to ride one and take it on a tour of the World Showcase before the area opens to other guests.

The "Around the World at Epcot" is a two hour guided tour through the World Showcase before it opens. Tours start at 8:30 and 9:30 am each day and cost $80 per person. You receive training on how to ride the Segway before you embark on the tour.

The "Simply Segway" option is a one hour product overview, training and indoor riding experience at Epcot's Innoventions area. The ride experience starts at 12:30 and 1:45 pm each day (except Tuesdays) and costs $45 per person.

Class sizes are limited to 10 guests and you must be 16 or over so reservations are recommended. You also require a normal Epcot admission ticket.

Innovention Fountain

The Innovention Fountain shoots water up to 150 ft in the air. Every 15 minutes, the fountain performs an amazing water ballet, all set to music. It makes a great place to sit down and take a rest when you are starting to fade.
