A popular idea for couples having a Florida Destination Wedding is to have the wedding and a small reception for very close family and friends in Florida, then to have an evening reception back home after the honeymoon for all the extended family and friends. Where you have your wedding reception depends very much on where you have the ceremony and how many there are in your party.
If you are having your wedding in a hotel, then it makes sense to have your reception there as well and you will probably be able to get a combined deal, which may save you money.
If you have your ceremony on the beach, or in a garden, or in a Florida wedding chapel, then you may choose to have a meal in a favourite restaurant.

Even if your numbers are very small, please make sure you or your wedding planner book this in advance; as it would be tragic if you arrived for your meal and had to wait for a table or even worse could not get a table.
The wedding cake
If there is one thing we recommend you have your Florida wedding planner organise for you, it is the provision of your cake. The thought of trying to get three tiers of a highly decorated cake safely on a long journey and then having to go through US Customs and US Department of Agriculture checks with a fruit cake does not bear thinking about!
